The University Archives gladly accepts donations of materials that fall within its collection development policy.

For non-University Archives donations of materials, please contact Morris Library's Collection Development Officer, Loretta Koch, and for financial contributions to Morris Library, please contact the Library's Administrative Offices.

University Archives Collection Development Policy:

• University Records and Publications

The Special Collections Research Center of Morris Library is responsible for the preservation of various University records. The SIUC Records Management Policy Manual provides guidelines for the systematic identification of University records and publications of enduring administrative, legal, and historical value. For these records identified for transfer to the University Archives, priority will be given to ones documenting the primary administrative functions of the institution and to the acquisition of records currently in danger of destruction. • University-related Manuscript Collections and Ephemera

The Special Collections Research Center accepts donations of materials that provide unique documentation not found in the University's official records. The University Archives collects the papers of trustees, administrators, faculty, staff, and students. A "Deed of Gift" is completed and signed by both the donor and a representative of the Special Collections Research Center. Please contact the archivist for further information. Typical types of materials accepted include personal papers and organizational records such as: correspondence, diaries, photographs, scrapbooks, research files, programs from campus events, and yearbooks and other historic publications.
