University Archives

The University Archives is the official repository for all permanent non-current records of academic and administrative units of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The staff of the University Archives works with University Records Management Administration and Consulting to maintain a vital records protection program These records document not only the development of the institution from a teachers’ college into a research university, but also provide insight into the development of the social, economic, and political structure of the institution and the greater southern Illinois region.
