The Ulysses S. Grant Association

Membership in the Grant Association

The Ulysses S. Grant Association relies on its friends. Federal funding and university support are supplemented by the generous help of its members across the country and abroad. When you become a member of the Grant Association, you aid important work to better illuminate not only Grant himself, but a period in U. S. history when the country stood on the brink of the modern era, facing new and difficult challenges.

For a one-time, tax-deductible $200 contribution, you, too, can become a lifetime member of the Ulysses S. Grant Association. Membership entitles you to a 25% discount on the twenty-eight volumes of The Papers of Ulysses S. Grant and The Personal Memoirs of Julia Dent Grant, both published by Southern Illinois University Press.

In addition, members are invited to attend our annual meetings (usually held in April). These gatherings are intended to acknowledge the contributions of our members and to foster a community of interest in Grant's life and times. In recent years the Grant Association has met in Richmond, Washington, D.C., New York City, Providence, and Cincinnati.  The most recent meetings were held at West Point (2006) and in Denver (2007), and the next is scheduled for St. Louis during the first weekend of May 2008.
